SWERTI
This natural hybrid was collected sometime around 1612, making it one of the earliest form of a bearded iris to enter cultivation and, at that, hang around for so many years thereafter. It's a petite, tailored plicata, grows like a weed, and forms very tidy, handsome clumps. A great reminder of the evolution of bearded irises from the 1600s to now! Note: For years we've been growing this under the incorrect identity of 'Madame Chereau', something we should've taken note of much earlier than now. The error stems from a mismarked plant from a supplier and a lack of vigilance to follow-up on our part. If you've grown this from us, please accept our apologies for this error.
